Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Raja Ram Mohan Roy Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata has opened the bookings for ₹250 commemorative coin issued to mark 250th Birth Anniversary of Raja Ram Mohan Roy. The bookings are open from May 24, 2023, and it is subject to limited availability.

Earlier, the Hon’ble Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, released the ₹250 coin and a special postal stamp to mark the occasion on May 22, 2023 at Belvedere House, home to The National Library of India in Kolkata. The event was attended by Shri Rajat Paul, Chief General Manager, India Government Mint, Kolkata, Ms. Priyanka Chandra, Director, Ministry of Culture, Shri Sukanta Majumdar, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and State President, BJP West Bengal, along with other distinguished guests.

The Proof Set is priced at ₹3697 and UNC Set at ₹3410 for the Folder/Blister package. The Proof Set in MDF Box Set is priced at ₹4430. 

It's the most awaited coin for the year 2023 and the commemorative coin can be purchased either at the mint premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint, with updates available in the current and upcoming bookings section.

Kolkata Mint Commences Bookings for RSS Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has commenced the bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the 100 Years of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The bookings are open from October 7, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier, on October 1, 2025, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled the commemorative coin along with a special postal stamp to mark the event at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The ₹100 coin is currently available in the Proof Set, packaged with a booklet pack. It remains to be seen whether the Mint will also issue the UNC Set with a booklet pack or the Proof Set with an MDF box.  The ₹100 coin is priced at ₹8,410 for the Proof Set, which comes packaged with a booklet pack.
