New Commemorative Coin: 125 Years of Ramakrishna Mission

The Government of India will issue a commemorative coin of ₹125 to celebrate the 125 Years of Ramakrishna Mission. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on December 21, 2023, confirming this coin.

Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission is a Hindu religious, spiritual and philanthropic organisation headquartered in Belur Math, West Bengal. The mission is named after the Indian Hindu spiritual guru and mystic Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa Deva. 

The metal composition of the ₹125 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.

Obverse: The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devanagari script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol “₹” and denominational value “125” in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol.

Reverse: This face of the coin shall bear the image of Belur Math. The inscription “रामकृष्ण मिशन के 125 वर्ष” shall be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery and the inscription “125 Years of Ramakrishna Mission” in English will be depicted on the lower periphery of the coin. The year “1897” and “2022” in international numerals shall be written on the left and right side of the image of Belur Math respectively.

This commemorative coin will be mostly release on December 25, 2023 as part of the All India Youth Convention 2023. The possibility and upcoming commemorative coins have been updated for your reference.
