PM Modi Releases ₹550 Coin on Partagali Math at Canacona, Goa

The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, released a ₹550 commemorative coin and a postal stamp to mark the 550th Year Celebration of Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math, at Canacona, South Goa, on November 28, 2025.

The Prime Minister also unveiled a 77-feet bronze statue of Prabhu Shri Ram at the Math and inaugurated the ‘Ramayana Theme Park Garden’ developed by the institution.

The event was graced by the auspicious presence of P. P. Shree Vidyadheesh Teerth Swamiji, the Peethadhipathi of the Math; the Governor of Goa, Shri Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju; the Chief Minister of Goa, Shri Pramod Sawant; Union Minister Shri Shripad Naik; along with devotees, disciples, dignitaries, and representatives from various religious and cultural organizations who gathered to celebrate this historic milestone in the Math’s glorious spiritual journey.

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the 550th-year celebration of the Shree Samsthan Gokarn Partagali Jeevottam Math in Goa, expressing deep peace and gratitude on this sacred occasion. He said that being in the presence of saints is a spiritual experience and noted that the large gathering of devotees reflects the enduring strength of the Math. He also shared that he had earlier visited the Ram Mandir and Veer Vitthal Mandir, which further enriched the spiritual atmosphere of the day.

The Prime Minister highlighted that despite 550 years of changing eras and challenges, the Math has remained a guiding force rooted in tradition while adapting to the times. He praised its legacy of connecting sadhana with service and providing society with stability, values, and balance. He congratulated the Mathadhipati Shrimad Vidyadhish Tirth Swamiji, the committee, and all devotees on this historic milestone.

Shri Modi noted that the Math is now entering a new chapter with the installation of a 77-feet bronze statue of Lord Shri Ram and the inauguration of a Ramayana-themed park. He added that the museum, 3D theatre, Shri Ram Naam Jap Yajna, and the 550-day Ram Rath Yatra are strengthening cultural consciousness among the younger generation.

He remarked that the Math’s blend of spirituality and modern technology will inspire generations and that the commemorative coins and postage stamps released today honor its centuries-old contribution to society. Recalling its roots in the Dvaita Vedanta tradition established by Jagadguru Shri Madhvacharya, he emphasized the Math’s historic role in uniting communities, offering shelter in difficult times, and promoting education, culture, and public welfare.

Shri Modi highlighted Goa’s resilient cultural identity and the Math’s major role in preserving local traditions. He noted that India is undergoing a cultural renaissance, seen in developments like the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and Mahakal Mahalok, and said such efforts strengthen the nation’s spiritual foundation.

As the Math marks 550 years, the Prime Minister urged everyone to focus on unity and nation-building. He presented nine resolutions—water conservation, tree plantation, cleanliness, Swadeshi, exploring India, natural farming, healthy lifestyle, adopting yoga and sports, and helping the poor—and said the Math can transform these into collective commitments.

He praised Goa’s progress in tourism, infrastructure, education, and health, and stressed that spirituality, national service, and development must advance together. Concluding his address, Shri Modi extended his heartfelt greetings to all on this sacred occasion.
