UP Governor Releases ₹75 Coin on Bharat Scouts and Guides
The Hon’ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, released a ₹75 commemorative coin and a postal stamp to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the Bharat Scouts and Guides while inaugurating the 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides on November 24, 2025, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.
The event was held in the presence of Lucknow Mayor Sushma Kharkwal and the President of the Bharat Scouts and Guides. Also present were Anil Kumar Jain, Chairman of the World Scout Committee; Mr. Daniel Carson; Chief National Commissioner Dr. K. K. Khandelwal; Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Bharat Scouts and Guides Dr. Mahendra Singh; General Secretary and Regional Chief Commissioner Dr. Prabhat Kumar; Chief Post Master General Shri Pranab Kumar; along with public representatives, officials, trainers, thousands of scouts from across the country, and delegates from around 25 countries of the Asia-Pacific region.
Addressing the inaugural function, the Governor warmly greeted the enthusiastic Scouts and Guides and welcomed delegates from various countries. She said that the presence of thousands of participants from across India and around 25 Asia-Pacific nations made the event a vibrant symbol of diversity and unity—almost like a “mini India” showcasing cultural strength and national harmony.
The Governor noted that Uttar Pradesh was hosting the National Jamboree after 61 years and congratulated the state government. She shared that challenges have shaped her life and that the discipline and dedication of the youth continue to inspire her. Drawing from her own scouting experiences, she emphasised the movement’s role in shaping responsible, compassionate and determined citizens.
She recalled inaugurating a new scout building in Ahmedabad in 2015 and highlighted three core messages she had shared with the youth nationwide: duty to God, which builds humility and moral strength; duty to others, which fosters service and humanity; and duty to oneself, which strengthens character and contributes to nation-building.
The Governor praised the Bharat Scouts and Guides as the world’s largest voluntary, non-political youth organisation and commended their contribution during the COVID pandemic, natural calamities, traffic management and environmental conservation. Expressing concern over global environmental challenges, she urged youth to lead conservation efforts and contribute to the vision of a developed India by 2047.
She inspired the young participants to embrace new skills, self-reliance and the spirit of service, echoing Lord Baden Powell’s message that the greatest work is bringing happiness to others.
The Governor hoisted the Scout-Guide flag and inspected the Jamboree parade. Various states and international contingents presented impressive march-pasts, earning her praise for their discipline and unity. The event also featured a colourful cultural programme by Uttar Pradesh Scouts and Guides, along with a joint ‘Integration Dance’ showcasing India’s unity in diversity.
This release marks the 33rd commemorative coin of the year 2025, minted by the India Government Mint, Mumbai. The bookings are expected to open soon on the India Government Mint's website and will be updated in the current and upcoming bookings section.
