2025 - Bharat Scouts and Guides | Commemorative Coin

A commemorative coin of ₹75 will be issued to celebrate the '75 Years of the Bharat Scouts and Guides'. The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification on January 6, 2025.

The Bharat Scouts and Guides is a prominent national organization dedicated to the development of young individuals in India. Established in 1950 through the amalgamation of the Boy Scouts Association and the Hindustan Scouts Association, it upholds the principles of character building, discipline, and community service. The organization aims to nurture responsible citizens by fostering skills, values, and a sense of social responsibility among its members.  

Rooted in the ideals of Scouting and Guiding as envisioned by Lord Baden-Powell, the Bharat Scouts and Guides provides a structured program of activities that includes outdoor adventures, skills training, and community engagement. These activities are designed to instill values such as teamwork, leadership, and self-reliance while encouraging a love for nature and an awareness of environmental conservation.  

Membership is open to boys and girls from diverse backgrounds, offering them a platform to engage in constructive pursuits and personal growth. The organization emphasizes the importance of duty to God, duty to others, and duty to self, aligning with its motto of “Be Prepared.” Through its various programs, members have opportunities to earn badges, attend national and international camps, and participate in service projects that make a positive impact on their communities.
