PM Modi Releases ₹100 Coin at Seva Teerth Complex Inauguration
The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, released the ₹100 commemorative coin, issued in two variants, along with a postal stamp as part of the formal inauguration of the Seva Teerth Complex today, on February 13, 2026 in New Delhi.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by several Union Ministers, including Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Shri Jitendra Singh, Minister of Finance Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, Minister of Defence Shri Rajnath Singh, Minister of Railways Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister said that the day marked the beginning of a new chapter in India’s development journey. He noted the spiritual significance of the occasion and expressed confidence that the resolve taken for a Developed India would lead to success. He congratulated the PMO team, the Cabinet Secretariat, various departments, engineers, and workers involved in the construction of Seva Teerth and Kartavya Bhavan.
Reflecting on history, the Prime Minister observed that South Block and North Block, though associated with many important post-Independence decisions, were originally built as symbols of colonial authority. He contrasted this with Seva Teerth, stating that the new complex represents governance rooted in service rather than power. He emphasized that decisions taken here would reflect the aspirations of 140 crore citizens, not the will of any ruler.
Highlighting administrative reforms, he pointed out that earlier, several ministries functioned from multiple rented buildings, leading to high costs and logistical challenges. The new integrated complexes would improve coordination, reduce expenses, and enhance efficiency. He also announced that the old buildings would be preserved as part of a national museum, ensuring their historical legacy remains intact.
The Prime Minister stressed the need to move beyond colonial symbols and mindsets. He recalled various steps taken in recent years — including the renaming of important landmarks and the construction of national memorials — as part of redefining India’s governance identity around duty and service.
He underlined that “Nagrikdevo Bhava” is not merely a slogan but a guiding principle, placing citizens at the center of governance. Every decision taken in Seva Teerth, he said, must aim to improve the lives of the people. Emphasising duty as the foundation of nation-building, he called upon officials and employees to dedicate themselves to service with commitment and integrity.
Concluding, the Prime Minister stated that Seva Teerth should become a symbol of sensitive, citizen-centric governance and a driving force in achieving the vision of Developed India 2047.
This release marks the 3rd commemorative coin of the year 2026, minted by the India Government Mint, Kolkata. The bookings are expected to open soon on the India Government Mint's website and will be updated in the current and upcoming bookings section.
