The India Government Mint, Mumbai has opened the bookings of ₹100  commemorative coin  issued on ' Centennial Celebration of University of Lucknow .'  The booking period for the coin is open from 18th August 2021 to 30th September 2021. The commemorative coin was released on November 25, 2020, to mark the Centennial Foundation Day of the University of Lucknow. The honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled the coin through a video conference. The  commemorative coin  is available in Folder/Blister packaging, priced at ₹3,615/- for the Proof set and ₹3,100/- for the UNC set. These coins can be obtained either at the Mint Premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint. The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  of ₹125 to mark the ' 125th Birth Anniversary of A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada .' The Ministry of Finance issued the gazette notification on July 19, 2021, confirming the coin. Srila Abhay Charanaravinda Bhaktivedanta Swami, also known as Srila Prabhupada, born Abhay Charan De, was an influential Indian spiritual teacher and the founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon), commonly recognized as the "Hare Krishna Movement." The  metal composition  of the ₹125 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows. In 2019, the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi launched the new definitive series of Indian coins, marking a significant milestone in the country’s numismatic history.  This series includes denominations of ₹1, ₹2, ₹5, ₹10, and ₹20, each featuring updated designs, improved minting quality, and enhanced durability. The ₹2, ₹5, and ₹10 coins were introduced into circulation the same year, while the ₹20 coin gradually became available to the public in the second half of 2020. Despite the announcement and anticipation, the new ₹1 coins for the years 2019 and 2020 have not yet appeared in circulation, leaving collectors and the general public eagerly awaiting their release. According to the Reserve Bank of India’s Annual Reports, substantial quantities of these new ₹1 coins were minted and supplied to the RBI’s chests—approximately 1,093 lakh units in the financial year 2019–20 and another 1,000 lakh units in 2020–21. An unusual situation has arisen in numerous cities in India, where traders, shopkeepers, and vendors are refusing to accept the newly introduced ₹20 coins. This scenario echoes the past issue with ₹10 coins when rumors circulated about their authenticity. Unfortunately, many citizens remain unaware of the existence of the new ₹20 coin. The newly minted ₹20 coins are produced at all four mints, namely Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Noida. These mints have dispatched consignments of coins to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which, in turn, distributes them to banks through regional offices.
