(SPMCIL) has started offering an exquisite and exclusive collectible featuring a beautifully etched metal artwork of Ayodhya Ram Mandir with Ram Lala, accompanied by a silver souvenir token . The combining traditional craftsmanship with numismatic appeal, this special artwork frame is a distinctive collectible for both devotees and collectors. The exquisite Ram Lala artwork was manufactured by the India Government Mint, Mumbai and is said to have been produced in a very limited quantity of just 15 pieces. Most of these pieces were reportedly provided to the Ministry for presentation to dignitaries, making the collectible exceptionally scarce and difficult to obtain. Hyderabad Mint Issues Souvenir for Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad has issued a silver  commemorative souvenir to mark the 83rd birthday celebrations of Avadhoota Datta Peetham pontiff Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji , held with grandeur on May 25, 2025 at Mysore. On this occasion, sacred rituals such as Rudra Homa, Ayushya Homa, and Rudra Abhisheka were performed at the Sri Datta Venkateshwara Temple. The commemorative souvenir was unveiled by Smt. P. Vijayalakshmi, Manager of the Reserve Bank of India, Hyderabad Branch, marking a unique and memorable moment. From the images, it appears that the commemorative souvenirs were issued with a Folder or Blister packaging. However, it appears that this commemorative souvenir was made exclusively for a private trust, similar to the one issued for the Diamond Jubilee of the Hyderabad Philatelic & Hobbies Society in 2022. It is unlikely to be released for public circulation or listed on the official website of the India Government Mint.

Mumbai Mint Opens Bookings for Ayodhya Ram Mandir Souvenirs

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has opened bookings for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Souvenir in Folder/Blister pack starting from March 11, 2024. The souvenir token is minted with a colored image of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir on the obverse side and Shri Ram Lala on the reverse side. The souvenir token comes in Silver with 999 fineness, weighing 50 grams, priced at ₹5213.  Indeed, the Kolkata Mint issued the same designed souvenir token for the Ayodhya Ram Mandir last month, marking the 19th Foundation Day celebrations of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL). It seems that approximately 15,000 units of the souvenir token from the Kolkata Mint have been sold. The souvenir token is available at the Mumbai Mint Premises as well as on the India Government Mint's official website. Please note that prices are subject to change based on the bullion value, and the above pricing is as of March 11, 2024.

FM Releases Souvenir Tokens on SPMCIL's 19th Foundation Day

The Hon'ble Union Finance Minister, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, released the commemorative souvenir tokens during the 19th Foundation Day celebrations of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) on February 15, 2024. The souvenir tokens include ' Endangered Animals of India - Great One-Horned Rhinoceros ,' featuring the endangered species found in India. Another token showcases ' Ayodhya Ram Mandir ' with a colored image of Shri Ram Lala on one side and an image of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir on the other side. Additionally, there is a bi-metallic souvenir token highlighting the ' Enlightenment of Buddha '. Shri Ajay Seth, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, and Shri Vijay Ranjan Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, along with the Board of Directors of SPMCIL, were active participants in the event. Kolkata Mint to Issue Coloured Silver Souvenir on World Cup 2023

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, is set to release a coloured silver souvenir to commemorate the upcoming 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup . The 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup marks the 13th edition of this quadrennial One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament, organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This tournament is being hosted exclusively by India, starting on October 5 and concluding on November 19, 2023. The souvenir token is crafted with 50 grams of Silver (999) and features an attractive design priced at ₹5207.26. Bookings for the souvenir will commence on September 30, 2023, as advertised in most leading newspapers today by Kolkata Mint. Collectors would have greatly appreciated the issuance of a commemorative coin rather than the souvenir token. Update: The souvenir token has been unexpectedly withdrawn as of October 3, 2023, for reasons undisclosed. Refunds are anticipated for orders made through the India Government Mint's website.

Kolkata Mint and Hyderabad Mint Issues New Festival Souvenir Tokens

The Kolkata Mint and Hyderabad Mint have opened bookings for souvenir tokens to mark the upcoming festivals of Raksha Bandhan, Onam, and Shri Krishna Janmashtami. The bookings began on August 18, 2023, and are subject to limited availability. The Kolkata Mint has released Raksha Bandhan souvenirs in two silver variants—priced at ₹4,119 for the 50-gram token and ₹1,765 for the 20-gram token. Two gold variants are also available, priced at ₹32,348 for the 5-gram token and ₹16,239 for the 2.5-gram token, each offered in distinct designs. For Janmashtami, the Kolkata Mint has introduced silver souvenirs priced at ₹4,119 for the 50-gram token and ₹1,765 for the 20-gram token, along with a 5-gram gold token priced at ₹32,348. The Onam souvenir from Kolkata Mint is issued only in a 50-gram silver variant, priced at ₹4,119. For Onam and Shri Krishna Janmashtami, the Mint has introduced two options: a 5-gram gold token and a 20-gram silver token. The gold token is priced at ₹34,089.34, while the silver token is available for ₹1,959.86. The Raksha Bandhan souvenir is a specially designed coloured silver token, weighing 40 grams and priced at ₹4,291.55. India Government Mint, Hyderabad—one of the four mints under the Security Printing & Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL)—has a rich legacy dating back more than two centuries. Established in 1803 as the Royal Mint under the Nizam of Hyderabad, it played a key role in producing coinage for the princely state. After India’s independence, the mint was taken over by the Government of India in 1950. Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Rath Yatra Souvenir Tokens

The India Government Mint, Kolkata opened the bookings of  souvenir tokens  in Gold and Silver on occasion of ' Rath Yatra 2023 ' festival  from June 20, 2023. This year, the Puri Rath Yatra will take place on June 20 and culminate on June 28, 2023.  The souvenir tokens features the image of Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra with the Puri temple at the background. The gold tokens are available in two variants: a 10-gram token priced at ₹65,663.02 and an 8-gram token priced at ₹52,581.29. The silver token is issued only in a 50-gram variant, priced at ₹4,235.22 as of June 20, 2023. Earlier, in 2010, the India Government Mint, Kolkata issued a 20-gram silver souvenir token to mark the Rath Yatra, and in 2018, ₹1,000 and ₹10 coins were released to mark Shree Jagannath Nabakalebara Festival.
