Shri Vijay Ranjan Singh Appointed CMD of SPMCIL

The Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) appointed Shri Vijay Ranjan Singh as its Chairman and Managing Director on September 27, 2023. His appointment, under the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, is for a period of five years or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Shri S.K. Sinha, Chairman and Managing Director (HR), and Shri Ajay Agarwal, Director (Finance), among others, welcomed the new CMD.

A 1996-batch Indian Forest Service officer of the Karnataka cadre, Shri Vijay Ranjan Singh brings over 27 years of experience in public administration. Before joining SPMCIL, he held key positions in the Karnataka Forest Department, the Department of Fertilizers, the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi, and the Zoo Authority of Karnataka.

SPMCIL is a Miniratna Category-I central public sector enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Finance. It is responsible for the production of banknotes, security paper, postage stamps, passports, visas, medals, and commemorative coins.

Shri Vijay Ranjan Singh succeeded Smt. Tripti Patra Ghosh, who served as CMD from May 1, 2018, for a five-year tenure. Under his leadership, SPMCIL is expected to continue its focus on modernisation, technological advancement, and self-reliance in security printing and minting.
