The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi unveiled a ₹150 commemorative coin and a postal stamp to the celebrate  150 Years of India Meteorological Department  (IMD) today, on January 14, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. In addition to Shri Narendra Modi, the event was attended by key dignitaries such as Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for the Ministry of Earth Sciences, Ms. Celeste Saulo, Secretary-General of the World Meteorological Organization, and Dr. M. The India Government Mint, Kolkata has opened bookings for ' The Asian Elephant ' colored souvenir token under the Endangered Animals of India theme from January 13, 2025. The metal composition of the token is made of Nickel Silver (Copper 60%, Nickel 20% & Zinc 20%) weighing 32 grams with a 44 mm diameter  and 2.5 mm thickness. Last year during the 19th Foundation Day celebrations of the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL) in February 15, 2024, the mint has released the ' Great One-Horned Rhinoceros ' colored souvenir token under the Endangered Animals of India theme.  The  Elephant colored souvenir token is issued at the price of ₹1506 and is available with a limited quantities. These  souvenir tokens  are available at Mint Premises as well as on the India Government Mint's official website .

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has commenced bookings for  commemorative coins  of the  Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Vadtal  and the  State Bank of India Mumbai Main Branch . The bookings began today, January 9, 2025, and are available in limited quantities. The ₹200 coin was issued to mark the 200th Anniversary of Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Vadtaldham, and the ₹100 coin was issued to celebrate the Centenary Year of SBI’s Mumbai Main Branch. Both coins are available in Proof and UNC sets, packaged in Folder or Blister options. Additionally, they are offered in a Proof Set with an MDF or Wooden Box package. The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  with a denomination of ₹75 to celebrate the ' 75 Years of the Bharat Scouts and Guides '. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on January 6, 2025, confirming this coin. The Bharat Scouts and Guides is a national organization in India dedicated to fostering the holistic development of young individuals. Established in 1950, it promotes values like leadership, teamwork, and community service through activities such as camping, skill-building, and social work. Guided by the motto "Be Prepared," the organization empowers boys and girls to become responsible citizens and contribute meaningfully to society while fostering unity, discipline, and a love for nature. The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has started accepting bookings for the ₹125 commemorative coin issued to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab . The bookings has opened today, January 2, 2025, and are subject to limited availability. Earlier, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, unveiled the commemorative coin and postage stamp on November 21, 2024, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, as part of the 125th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab. Currently, the ₹125 coin is available in Proof and UNC sets with Folder/Blister packaging. Proof sets with MDF/Wooden Box packaging are awaited, although it's uncertain if they will be issued. The Proof set in Folder packaging is priced at ₹3,068, while the UNC set is priced at ₹2,812.
