The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has started accepting bookings for the ₹125 commemorative coin issued to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab . The bookings has opened today, January 2, 2024, and are subject to limited availability. Earlier, the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, unveiled the commemorative coin and postage stamp on November 21, 2024, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, as part of the 125th Birth Anniversary Celebrations of Dr. Harekrushna Mahtab. Currently, the ₹125 coin is available in Proof and UNC sets with Folder/Blister packaging. Proof sets with MDF/Wooden Box packaging are awaited, although it's uncertain if they will be issued. The Proof set in Folder packaging is priced at ₹3,068, while the UNC set is priced at ₹2,812. Despite the recent surge in silver prices, the pricing remains thoughtfully balanced, offering collectors excellent value for these exclusive coin sets.
