Mumbai Mint Opens Bookings for Atal Bihari Vajpayee Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has opened bookings for  commemorative coin  issued to mark the Birth Centenary of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee . The bookings began today, March 26, 2025, and are available in limited quantities. Earlier, the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi unveiled the ā‚¹100 commemorative coin and a postal stamp celebrating the Birth Centenary of former Prime Minister Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee on December 25, 2024, at Khajuraho, Madhya Pradesh. The ā‚¹100 coin is available in Proof and UNC sets, packaged in either a folder or a blister pack. Additionally, it is also offered in a Proof Set with an MDF box packaging option. The Proof Set is priced at ā‚¹7,095, while the UNC Set is priced at ā‚¹6,915, both available in folder or blister packaging. The Proof Set with an MDF box is priced at ā‚¹7,305. The bookings are open from March 18, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. The ā‚¹100 coin is currently issued only in the Proof Set, packaged in a Folder or Blister option. RBI to Issue ā‚¹100 and ā‚¹200 Banknotes with New Governor's Signature

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will soon issue ā‚¹100 and ā‚¹200 banknotes bearing the signature of its newly appointed Governor, Shri Sanjay Malhotra, as announced in an RBI press release on March 11, 2025. According to the press release, "The Reserve Bank of India will shortly issue ā‚¹100 and ā‚¹200 denomination banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series bearing the signature of Shri Sanjay Malhotra, Governor. The design of these notes remains identical in all respects to the existing ā‚¹100 and ā‚¹200 banknotes in the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series. All previously issued ā‚¹100 and ā‚¹200 banknotes will continue to be legal tender." Earlier, on February 12, 2025, the RBI announced the issuance of ā‚¹50 banknotes featuring the new Governorā€™s signature. Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for National Bird Colored Token

The India Government Mint, Kolkata has opened bookings for ' National Bird Peacock ' colored  souvenir token  from March 12, 2025. The metal composition of the souvenir token is made of Nickel Silver (Copper 60%, Nickel 20% & Zinc 20%) weighing 32 grams with a 44 mm diameter  and 2.5 mm thickness. Earlier, the mint has released two colored tokens under the Endangered Animals of India theme featuring ' Great One-Horned Rhinoceros ' and ' The Asian Elephant '.  The  National Bird Peacock colored souvenir token is issued at the price of ā‚¹1506 and is available with a limited quantities. These  souvenir tokens  are available at Mint Premises as well as on the India Government Mint's  official website .

The Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, released a ā‚¹150 commemorative coin to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj at Auda Auditorium, Shela, Ahmedabad, on March 9, 2025. The event was held in the esteemed presence of 97-year-old Acharya Bhagwant Shrimad Manohar Kirti Sagar Surishwarji Maharaj and 90-year-old Acharya Bhagwant Shrimad Padma Sagar Surishwarji Maharaj. No Release Function for Mysore Medical College Coin

There was no official release function for the ā‚¹100  commemorative coin  marking the  Centenary Celebration of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute . Neither the Government of India nor the institute organized a formal release event for the coin. Instead, the India Government Mint, Mumbai, directly issued the coin and opened it for booking on March 7, 2025. The Ministry of Finance had earlier confirmed its issuance through a gazette notification dated November 25, 2024. The Centenary Celebration event itself took place on September 28, 2024, where Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Siddaramaiah inaugurated the closing ceremony.
