No Release Function for Mysore Medical College Coin

There was no official release function for the ₹100  commemorative coin  marking the  Centenary Celebration of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute . Neither the Government of India nor the institute organized a formal release event for the coin. Instead, the India Government Mint, Mumbai, directly issued the coin and opened it for booking on March 7, 2025. The Ministry of Finance had earlier confirmed its issuance through a gazette notification dated November 25, 2024. The Centenary Celebration event itself took place on September 28, 2024, where Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Siddaramaiah inaugurated the closing ceremony. Mumbai Mint Opens Bookings for MMC and Birsa Munda Ji Coins

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has opened bookings for commemorative coins issued in honor of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute and Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji . The bookings began today, March 7, 2025, and are available in limited quantities. The ₹100 coin, marking the Centenary Celebration of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, and the ₹150 coin, honoring Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji, are available in Proof and UNC sets, packaged in Folder or Blister options. Additionally, both coins can be purchased in a Proof Set, with an MDF or Wooden Box package. The ₹100 commemorative coin for Mysore Medical College and Research Institute is priced at ₹3,870 for the Proof Set and ₹3,690 for the UNC Set, both available in Folder or Blister packaging. New Commemorative Coin: 100 Years of Railway Electrification

The Government of India will issue a ₹100 first-ever colored  commemorative coin  to mark the 100 Years of Electrification in Indian Railways . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on March 4, 2025, confirming this coin. The 100 Years of Railway Electrification in India marks a century of progress since the first electrified railway section was introduced in 1925 between Mumbai’s Victoria Terminus (now Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) and Kurla. Over the years, railway electrification has significantly enhanced efficiency, sustainability, and connectivity across the nation. This milestone celebrates India's transition towards an eco-friendly, high-speed, and modern rail network, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and promoting green energy initiatives.
