Mumbai Mint Opens Bookings for MMC and Birsa Munda Ji Coins

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has opened bookings for commemorative coins issued in honor of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute and Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji. The bookings began today, March 7, 2025, and are available in limited quantities.

The ₹100 coin, marking the Centenary Celebration of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute, and the ₹150 coin, honoring Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji, are available in Proof and UNC sets, packaged in Folder or Blister options. Additionally, both coins can be purchased in a Proof Set, with an MDF or Wooden Box package.

The ₹100 commemorative coin for Mysore Medical College and Research Institute is priced at ₹3,870 for the Proof Set and ₹3,690 for the UNC Set, both available in Folder or Blister packaging. A Proof Set with an MDF or Wooden Box has also been issued, priced at ₹4,060. 

Meanwhile, the ₹150 coin honoring Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji is available at ₹6,835 for the Proof Set and ₹6,655 for the UNC Set in Folder or Blister packaging, while the Proof Set with an MDF or Wooden Box is priced at ₹7,046.

The ₹100 coin for Mysore Medical College and Research Institute is composed of a Quaternary Alloy containing 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. It weighs 35 grams, has a diameter of 44 mm, and features 200 serrations along the edge. There was no official release function for this commemorative coin, and it was directly issued for booking.

The ₹150 coin of Bhagwan Birsa Munda Ji is made of 99.9% pure silver, weighs 40 grams, has a diameter of 44 mm, and features 200 serrations along the edge. It was officially released by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on November 15, 2024, at Jamui, Bihar.

Given the limited availability of these prestigious commemorative coins, interested collectors are encouraged to book their sets at the earliest, either by visiting the Mint Premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint.
