Shri Amit Shah Releases Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji's Coin

The Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, released a ₹150 commemorative coin to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj at Auda Auditorium, Shela, Ahmedabad, on March 9, 2025.

The event was held in the esteemed presence of 97-year-old Acharya Bhagwant Shrimad Manohar Kirti Sagar Surishwarji Maharaj and 90-year-old Acharya Bhagwant Shrimad Padma Sagar Surishwarji Maharaj. The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel accompanied Shri Amit Shah during the ceremony.

Shri Amit Shah later stated in his tweet, "Pujya Shrimad Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj was a confluence of renunciation and dedication. This commemorative coin, issued in honor of Pujya Buddhisagar Surishwarji Maharaj, who upheld karma, dharma, meditation, and knowledge as the core values of life, will immortalize his memory and inspire future generations to learn about his ideals," in Gujarati.

This marks the fifth commemorative coin release of 2025, minted by the India Government Mint, Kolkata. The bookings for the coin are expected to open soon on the India Government Mint's website, with updates to be provided in the current and upcoming bookings section.

The Government of India will issue a ₹100  commemorative coin  on first Samadhi Divas of Sant Shiromani Digambar Jainacharya Vidyasagar Mahamuniraj . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on January 31, 2025, confirming this coin. The Government of India will issue a ₹100 first-ever colored  commemorative coin  to mark the 100 Years of Electrification in Indian Railways . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on March 4, 2025, confirming this coin. The 100 Years of Railway Electrification in India marks a century of progress since the first electrified railway section was introduced in 1925 between Mumbai’s Victoria Terminus (now Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus) and Kurla.
