PM Modi Releases ₹300 Coin on Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Holkar

The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, released a ₹300 commemorative coin and a postage stamp to mark the 300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar today, May 31, 2025, during his participation in the Lokmata Devi Ahilyabai Mahila Sashaktikaran Mahasammelan held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The ceremony was graced by the presence of the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mohan Yadav, Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mangubhai Patel, along with other ministers and distinguished dignitaries. The Prime Minister also presented the National Devi Ahilyabai Award to a woman artist in recognition of her contributions to tribal, folk, and traditional arts. Following the unveiling of the commemorative coin and postage stamp, the Prime Minister inaugurated several development projects. Hyderabad Mint Issues Souvenir for Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad has issued a silver  commemorative souvenir to mark the 83rd birthday celebrations of Avadhoota Datta Peetham pontiff Sri Ganapathy Sachchidananda Swamiji , held with grandeur on May 25, 2025 at Mysore. On this occasion, sacred rituals such as Rudra Homa, Ayushya Homa, and Rudra Abhisheka were performed at the Sri Datta Venkateshwara Temple. The commemorative souvenir was unveiled by Smt. P. Vijayalakshmi, Manager of the Reserve Bank of India, Hyderabad Branch, marking a unique and memorable moment. From the images, it appears that the commemorative souvenirs were issued with a Folder or Blister packaging. However, it appears that this commemorative souvenir was made exclusively for a private trust, similar to the one issued for the Diamond Jubilee of the Hyderabad Philatelic & Hobbies Society in 2022. It is unlikely to be released for public circulation or listed on the official website of the India Government Mint.

PM Modi Releases ₹50 Coin on Golden Jubilee of Sikkim's Statehood

The Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, virtually released a ₹50 commemorative coin , a postal stamp and a souvenir today, May 29, 2025, to mark 50 Glorious Years of Sikkim's Statehood , during a ceremony held at Paljor Stadium in Gangtok. Due to weather conditions, the Prime Minister attended the event virtually, while the commemorative coin, postal stamp and souvenir were physically released by the Governor of Sikkim, Shri Om Prakash Mathur, and the Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang.  The Government of Sikkim has launched a year-long celebration under the theme “Sunaulo, Samriddha, and Samarth Sikkim”. The Government of India will issue a ₹300  commemorative coin  to mark the 300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on May 23, 2025, confirming this coin. Devi Ahilyabai Holkar was a legendary ruler of the Malwa kingdom, known for her exceptional administrative skills and deep sense of justice. She ruled from 1767 to 1795 and is widely respected for her efforts in promoting infrastructure, education, and religion. Her legacy lives on through the numerous temples, dharamshalas, and public works she commissioned across India, reflecting her devotion and visionary leadership. The  metal composition  of the ₹300 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. In light of persistent technical issues and mounting customer dissatisfaction, there is growing public demand for the India Government Mint (IGM), operating under the Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Ltd. (SPMCIL), to consider switching to a more efficient website provider. The current online platform, responsible for the sale of  commemorative coins , has suffered repeated crashes, particularly during any new bookings. As a result, genuine collectors are frequently left unable to place their orders, leading to widespread frustration across the numismatic community. The IGM’s e-commerce portal plays a vital role in offering direct access to commemorative coins for the general public. However, recurring performance failures have not only eroded public trust but have also created opportunities for bulk buyers and dealers to exploit the system. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on May 15, 2025, confirming this coin. Mumbai Mint Opens Bookings for Shri Harakhchand Nahata Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has opened bookings for ₹25  commemorative coin issued to mark the 25th Death Anniversary of Shri Harakhchand Nahata . The bookings began today, May 13, 2025, and are available in limited quantities. Earlier, the Hon'ble Governor of Rajasthan, Shri Haribhau Bagde, along with Jainacharya Shri Jin Piyush Sagar Surishwarji, unveiled a ₹25 commemorative coin in honor of Shri Harakhchand Nahata today, on February 2, 2025, at Harakhmani Estate in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The ₹25 commemorative coin is available in both Proof and UNC sets, presented in a Folder/Blister pack. Additionally, it is also offered in a Proof Set with an MDF box packaging option. The Proof Set is priced at ₹7,010, and the UNC Set at ₹6,740, both offered in folder/blister packaging. The Proof Set with an MDF box is priced at ₹7,390.
