On the same occasion, the Prime Minister will also unveil a special centenary edition of Prof. M.S. Swaminathan’s book, In Search of Biohappiness.
A three-day conference from August 7 to 9, 2025, themed Well-being in Harmony with Nature, will be held in conjunction with the event. It will be attended by the Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for the Prime Minister’s Office, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Department of Atomic Energy, and Department of Space. The final day of the conference will witness key announcements, including a visionary roadmap for promoting well-being in harmony with nature, resilient agricultural practices tailored to climate challenges, and sustainable development strategies. A reprint of Dr. Swaminathan’s 2011 book focusing on ecological balance and human well-being will also be released.
The centenary celebrations aim not only to honour Dr. Swaminathan’s monumental legacy but also to reignite momentum toward his mission. They underscore the pressing need for integrated research and sound policymaking to ensure food security in the era of climate change.
