SRMH Announces Release of ₹100 Coin for Sri Ramanasramam Centenary

The Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage (SRMH) has announced the release of the ₹100 commemorative coin to mark the Sri Ramanasramam Centenary. The event will take place on September 14, 2025, at the Downtown Event Center in Fremont, California.

The President of Sri Ramanasramam, Tiruvannamalai, Dr. Venkat S. Ramanan, will be releasing the coin. The event will be graced by several distinguished guests, including Shri Rakesh Adlakha, Deputy Consul General, Consulate General of India (San Francisco); Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri), Padma Bhushan awardee and Hindutva activist; and Shri Raj Salwan, Mayor of Fremont, apart from devotees, scholars, and admirers from across the region.

Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage is organizing a day-long celebration to commemorate the release of the Sri Ramanasramam Centenary Commemorative Coin in the morning, and the 129th Anniversary of Bhagavan’s Advent at Arunachala in the afternoon, post-lunch.

Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage (SRMH) is a U.S.-based organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the life, teachings, and spiritual legacy of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi. Through cultural, educational, and devotional initiatives, SRMH serves as a platform for devotees and seekers across North America to engage with the profound philosophy of self-inquiry (ātma-vichāra) taught by Sri Ramana. The organization also plays a key role in organizing events, talks, and heritage outreach to foster global awareness of Sri Ramana Maharshi’s timeless message of inner silence and self-realization.

Devotees and numismatists in the United States can pre-order their coins through the Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage website. The ₹100 coin is priced at $108 for delivery within the U.S. or in-person collection at Washington, D.C., and $125 for residents of Canada.

It will be a remarkable occasion as a commemorative coin issued by the Government of India will see a formal release outside the country. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on May 15, 2025, officially confirming the issuance of this coin. This commemorative coin is reportedly minted by the India Government Mint, Mumbai. Additionally, several more commemorative coin releases are expected this year, as outlined in the upcoming and possibility section.
