Vice President to Unveil ₹100 Coin on Andhra University

The Vice President of India, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, is expected to unveil a ₹100 commemorative coin and a postal stamp to mark the Centenary Year of Andhra University at the valedictory function scheduled to be held on April 27, 2026, at the AU Engineering College Grounds in Visakhapatnam.

Among the expected dignitaries are Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, Governor Shri S. Abdul Nazeer, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Pawan Kalyan, and former India cricketer Shri Sachin Tendulkar.

The Centenary of Andhra University marks 100 years since its establishment in 1926, recognising a century of academic excellence and its significant contribution to higher education, research, and intellectual development, particularly in the Telugu-speaking regions of India.

The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on April 22, 2026, officially confirming the issuance of this coin. This release will mark the sixth commemorative coin of 2026, reportedly minted by the India Government Mint, Hyderabad. Additionally, several more releases are expected this year, as outlined in the upcoming and possibility section.
