Kolkata Mint Commences Bookings for Somnath Temple Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has commenced the bookings for the ₹75 commemorative coin issued to mark the 75 Years of Somnath Temple Restoration. The bookings are open from May 11, 2026, and it is subject to limited availability.

Earlier today, the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, released the ₹75 commemorative coin and postal stamp marking the occasion while participating in the Somnath Amrut Mahotsav at Veraval in Gujarat. The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, Deputy Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Harsh Sanghavi, along with other ministers and distinguished dignitaries, were also present on the occasion.

The ₹75 coin is currently available in a Proof Set, packaged in a Folder priced at ₹16,018. It remains to be seen whether the Kolkata Mint will also release UNC Sets in similar packaging.

It is to be noted that the above pricing is the initial issue price and is subject to revision. However, owing to significant fluctuations in silver prices, the mint may review and revise the prices on a day-to-day basis.

These coin sets can be purchased either at the mint premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint, with updates available in the current and upcoming bookings section.
