2005 - Rs 5 Dandi March Experimental Coin

The Stainless Steel coins was introduced into Rs 5 Coinage in September 2007 with the introduction of Definitive coin series of “Unity in Diversity” theme. In commemorative coins, the first Stainless steel coin to be released was the 75 Years of Dandi March, in July 2008. Although the Lal Bahadur Shastri Birth Centenary was in 2004, the Rs 5 Stainless Steel coin was put into circulation only in late 2008. 

With this background it is possible that an experimental coin of 75 Years of Dandi March was minted to check the die pressure and strike quality required to mint the coins.

The India Government Mint, Mumbai has started the bookings for the ₹75  commemorative coin issued to mark the 10 Years of Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) . New Commemorative Coin: 10 Years of PMSMA

The Government of India will issue a ₹75  commemorative coin to mark the 1 0 years of the Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on June 8, 2026, confirming this coin. Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Another Batch of Restrike Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata has commenced bookings for several commemorative coin sets issued earlier on different occasions, now being offered as re-strikes. The bookings opened today, June 15, 2026, and are subject to limited availability. These coin sets are being issued as restrikes in Proof Set with booklet packaging. However, all themes have been uniformly priced at ₹8,953, even though several issues, such as the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad and Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) commemorative coins, are struck in lower-specification quaternary alloys and measure only 39 mm in diameter with a weight of 22.5 grams.
