New Commemorative Coin: 300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar
The Government of India will issue a ₹300 commemorative coin to mark the 300th Birth Anniversary of Ahilyabai Holkar . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on May 23, 2025, confirming this coin. Devi Ahilyabai Holkar was a legendary ruler of the Malwa kingdom, known for her exceptional administrative skills and deep sense of justice. She ruled from 1767 to 1795 and is widely respected for her efforts in promoting infrastructure, education, and religion. Her legacy lives on through the numerous temples, dharamshalas, and public works she commissioned across India, reflecting her devotion and visionary leadership. The metal composition of the ₹300 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc.
