KNS Organises Monthly Meet at Rezwan Razack’s Museum

The Karnataka Numismatic Society organised its monthly meeting on April 10, 2022, exclusively for its limited members at Rezwan Razack’s Museum of Indian Paper Money. This marked their first gathering since the appointment of the new office bearers.

A visitor to the museum will experience the enchanting history of Indian paper money, tracing back to the days of French and Portuguese influence, as well as the British colonial period from the eighteenth to the twentieth century. The displays narrate the story of money intertwined with the nation's essence, uniting and dividing, providing a sense of identity, and mapping the powers, progress, crises, and triumphs of people and nations.

The credit for organizing the meet goes to Dr. Rezwan Razack, a legendary figure in the field of collecting Indian currency notes. Before the museum visit, Dr. Razack conducted a brief presentation for all the members, followed by high tea and snacks. Dr. Rezwan Razack also provided personal touches, such as certificates of attendance to all who participated.

Previously, on March 25, 2022, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shri Shaktikanta Das had visited the museum during an official visit to the city. Accompanying him were his wife, Smt Lopamudra Das, and Shri R Gurumurthy, the Regional Director of RBI, Bengaluru.

Located at Prestige Falcon Tower, 19, Brunton Road, Ashok Nagar, off M.G. Road, Bengaluru, the museum is open to the public for visits except on Mondays and general holidays.

For those interested in a lifetime membership at the Karnataka Numismatic Society, inquiries can be made at Marudhar Arts, #85 M.G. Road, Next to Barton Center, Bengaluru.
