Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Supreme Court Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has started accepting bookings for the commemorative coin issued to celebrate the ' 75 Years of the Supreme Court of India .' The bookings commenced today, August 31, 2024, and are subject to limited availability. Earlier this morning, the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled the commemorative coin during the inauguration of the National Conference of the District Judiciary at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The ₹75 coin is available in various packaging options: the Folder/Blister packaging with the Proof Set is priced at ₹5,615, while the UNC Set is priced at ₹5,354. For those interested in the Proof Set with the MDF/Wooden Box, it is available at ₹6,181. It is worth noting that the  metal composition  of the commemorative coin is made of pure silver (99.9%), weighing 40 grams with a diameter of 44 mm and 200 serrations along the edge. The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, released the ₹75 commemorative coin  and postal stamp to celebrate the ' 75 Years of the Supreme Court of India ' today, on August 31, 2024 during the inauguration of the National Conference of the District Judiciary at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Hon'ble Chief Justice of India, Dr. Dhananjaya Y Chandrachud, along with other Judges, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, Minister of Law and Justice of India, Shri R. The Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, will release the ₹75 commemorative coin to mark ' 75 Years of the Supreme Court of India ' during the inauguration of the National Conference of the District Judiciary on August 31, 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The Supreme Court of India, established on January 28, 1950, is the highest judicial authority in the country, serving as the guardian of the Indian Constitution. It plays a crucial role in interpreting laws, safeguarding fundamental rights, and ensuring justice for all citizens. Inauguration of Monetary Museum at Raj Bhavan, Lucknow

Kolkata Mint Re-Opens Bookings for Srila Prabhupad Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has re-opened bookings from today for the ₹150 commemorative coin issued to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupad . The booking initially commenced on March 9, 2024, with a limited quantity of only 300 coins available. Despite the significant rise in the price of silver, the re-booking price for this Proof Set, offered in Folder/Blister packaging, remains the same as the initial booking price of ₹3,087. However, the UNC Set in Folder/Blister packaging and the Proof Set, which includes an MDF/Wooden Box, have not yet been made available. It appears that the delay in reopening the bookings for the Srila Prabhupad coin sets was due to heavy internal orders for the ₹90 coin issued in celebration of the 90 Years of Reserve Bank of India . Raksha Mantri to Release ₹100 Coin on Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi

The Union Minister of Defence, Shri Rajnath Singh, is set to release the ₹100 commemorative coin on the occasion of the Birth Centenary of Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi on August 18, 2024, in Chennai. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Shri M. K. Stalin, and other important dignitaries will participate in this event organised by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Shri Shivdas Meena,  Chief Secretary   of Tamil Nadu has issued an announcement regarding this matter. Error Inlet Book in Srila Prabhupad's MDF Box Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has started issuing the ₹150 commemorative coin for the 150th Birth Anniversary of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupad in MDF box packages offline, although online bookings are yet to begin. However, it has come to notice that the Kolkata Mint has made an error with the inlet booklet in some of the MDF boxes. Instead of featuring the images of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupad, they have included Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Srila A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami, also known as Srila Prabhupada, born Abhay Charan De, was an influential Indian spiritual teacher and the founder-acharya of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (Iskcon).
