PM Modi Releases ₹200 Coin on Shree Swaminarayan Mandir, Vadtal

The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released a ₹200 commemorative coin on Shree Swaminarayan Mandir in Vadtal today, on November 11, 2024 through video conferencing. Former Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijay Rupani, attended the event.

The Vadtaldham Dwishatabdi Mahotsav, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the temple, took place from November 7 and will continue till November 15. This grand festival features devotional ceremonies, cultural programs, and spiritual discourses, drawing devotees from across the globe to honor the temple's rich heritage and its enduring influence on spiritual life.

Addressing the gathering via video conferencing, Shri Modi expressed that it was by the grace of Shree Swaminarayan that the 200th anniversary celebrations were taking place. Welcoming disciples from around the world, he remarked that service remains central to the tradition of Swaminarayan Mandir and that the disciples were deeply engaged in this spirit of service today. The Prime Minister shared his happiness upon seeing the celebrations covered in the media recently.

Noting that the 200th-year celebrations at Vadtal Dham are not just historical, Shri Modi emphasized that they hold great significance for many disciples, including himself, who grew up with unwavering faith in Vadtal Dham. He added that this occasion is a testament to the enduring flow of Indian culture. Shri Modi highlighted that, even 200 years after the establishment of Vadtal Dham by Shree Swaminarayan, spiritual consciousness remains alive, and Shree Swaminarayan’s teachings and energy continue to be felt. He extended warm greetings to all the saints and disciples on the temple’s 200th anniversary.

The Prime Minister expressed pride in the Government of India’s release of a ₹200 silver coin and a commemorative postal stamp, noting that these symbols would help preserve the memory of this significant event for future generations.

Shri Modi also emphasized his deep personal, spiritual, and social connection to the Swaminarayan tradition. He mentioned the joy he has felt over the years from being in the divine company of saints and from engaging in meaningful discussions for the nation’s development. Though unable to attend the event in person due to other commitments, the Prime Minister affirmed that he was present in spirit at Vadtal Dham.

Earlier, on November 9, 2024, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel, released a commemorative postal stamp in the presence of Acharya Maharaj Rakeshprasad Ji, Dr. Santvallabhswami (Chief Executive Kothari of Vadtaldham Mandir), Postmaster General of Vadodara Shri Dinesh Kumar Sharma, and other esteemed Pujya Swamishri.

This release marked the 17th commemorative coin for the year 2024, minted by the India Government Mint, Mumbai. The bookings are expected to open soon on the India Government Mint's website and will be updated in the current and upcoming bookings section.
