SRMH Unveils ₹100 Coin Celebrating Sri Ramanasramam Centenary
The President of Sri Ramanasramam, Dr. Venkat S. Ramanan, officially released the ₹100 commemorative coin to mark the Sri Ramanasramam Centenary. The event took place on September 14, 2025, at the Downtown Event Center in Fremont, California.
The event was graced by several distinguished guests, including Shri Rakesh Adlakha, Deputy Consul General at the Consulate General of India (San Francisco); Dr. David Frawley (Pandit Vamadeva Shastri), Padma Bhushan awardee and renowned scholar; Shri Raj Salwan, Mayor of Fremont; and Smt. Sunita Parasuraman of Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage (US), along with devotees, scholars, and admirers from across the region.
The release was part of a day-long programme organized by Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage (SRMH). The morning session featured the formal coin unveiling ceremony, while the afternoon session, held post-lunch, commemorated the 129th Anniversary of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi’s Advent at Arunachala.
It is indeed a rare and remarkable occasion that a commemorative coin issued by the Government of India has been formally released outside the country. The unveiling of the ₹100 coin marking the Sri Ramanasramam Centenary in Fremont, California, reflects the global reverence for Sri Ramana Maharshi and the widespread recognition of his spiritual legacy.
This commemorative coin marks the 21st release of the year 2025, minted by the India Government Mint, Mumbai. Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage (SRMH) has already begun accepting pre-orders for the coin, priced at $108 for delivery within the USA or in-person collection at Washington, D.C., and $125 for residents of Canada. In India, bookings for the Proof and UNC sets are expected to open soon on the India Government Mint’s website and will be updated under the current and upcoming bookings section.
