New Commemorative Coin: Military Nursing Service Centenary Celebration

The Government of India will issue a ₹100 commemorative coin to mark the Centenary Celebration of Military Nursing Service. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on September 28, 2026, confirming this coin.

The Military Nursing Service (MNS) is an integral part of the Armed Forces Medical Services of India, providing professional nursing care to serving personnel, veterans and their families. Its organised history dates back to 1888, while the permanent Indian Military Nursing Service was established on October 1, 1926. Over the years, MNS officers have served in military hospitals during peace and war, contributing to patient care, medical emergencies and humanitarian missions. October 1 is observed as the Raising Day of the Military Nursing Service.

The metal composition of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.

Obverse: The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devanagari script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol “₹” and denominational value “100” in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol.

Reverse: This face of the coin shall bear the figure of numeral hundred at the centre of the coin. The figure of numeral hundred shall depict the logo of Military Nursing Service along with the image of the nurse. The inscription “मिलिट्री नर्सिंग सर्विस का शताब्दी समारोह” in Devanagari script shall be inscribed on the upper periphery of the coin and the inscription “Centenary Celebration of Military Nursing Service” in English shall be inscribed on the lower periphery of the coin. The year “1926-2026” in international numeral shall be inscribed below the central image.

This commemorative coin honours the Military Nursing Service for its distinguished contribution to the Armed Forces Medical Services of India. Since its organised beginnings in 1888 and the establishment of the Indian Military Nursing Service in 1926, its dedicated officers have provided professional nursing care to military personnel, veterans and their families during peace and war. Hyderabad Mint Commences Bookings for SRCC Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has commenced the bookings for the ₹100 commemorative coin issued to mark  Centenary Year of Shri Ram College of Commerce . The bookings are open from September 7, 2026, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier, on September 5, 2026, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, released the ₹100 commemorative coin to mark the occasion, during his visit to the college campus in New Delhi on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
