PM Modi Releases ₹350 Coin of Shri Guru Gobind Singh

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a commemorative coin of Rs. 350 in the national capital today, marking the birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Addressing a select gathering at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, after the coin release, the Prime Minister praised the lofty ideals and values of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. He highlighted the Guru's selfless service to humanity, devotion, heroism, and sacrifice, urging people to follow his path.


In his address, Mr. Modi described Guru Gobind Singh Ji as a multifaceted personality – a great warrior, philosopher, poet, and guru. He emphasized the Guru's courageous stand against oppression and injustice, noting that his teachings focused on breaking barriers of religion and caste. The Prime Minister underscored that Guru Gobind Singh Ji's message of love, peace, and sacrifice remains relevant in contemporary times.

Mr. Modi expressed the belief that Guru Gobind Singh Ji's values and teachings would continue to be a source of inspiration and guiding spirit for mankind in the years to come. He described the commemorative coin as a small yet significant effort to show respect and reverence to the revered Guru. The Prime Minister urged the people to make a resolution to embody the 11-point path shown by Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj.

The event was attended by several Sikh dignitaries, including former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal, Union State Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, and Akali parliamentarians Prem Singh Chandumajra and Balwinder Singh Bhoondarh.

This commemorative coin marks the first release for the year 2019 and will soon be available for bookings from Mumbai Mint, and details will be updated in the 'Current and Upcoming Bookings' section.
