New Commemorative Coin: 90th Interpol General Assembly
The Government of India will be issuing a Rs 100 commemorative coin on occasion of 90th Interpol General Assembly held from 18th to 21st October 2022. The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification on 14th October 2022 confirming the same.
International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) is the world's largest international police organisation headquartered in Lyon, France with 195 member countries. India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the 90th Interpol General Assembly on 18th October 2022 in New Delhi.
The metal composition of the coin will be Quaternary Alloy (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations at the edge. The description of the coin is as below.
Obverse: The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked with the word “à¤ारत” and "INDIA" at right and left periphery of the coin with Rupee Symbol "₹” and denomination value “100” in International Numerals below the Ashoka Lion Capital.
Reverse: This face of coin shall bear the logos of Interpol and 90th Interpol General Assembly in the center of the coin. The inscription “90वीं इंटरपोल महासà¤ा” shall be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery and the inscription “90th Interpol General Assembly” in English on the lower periphery of the coin. A text "à¤ारत" in Devanagari, "INDIA" in English and year "2022" in international numeral shall be written below the image of logos.
The commemorative coin will be issued mostly during the 18th to 21st October 2022 event.
