His teachings on spirituality, self-realization, and nation-building continue to inspire generations.
As part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, which celebrates 75 years of India’s independence and honors the country’s rich history, culture, and achievements, the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo is being marked through year-long activities and programmes nationwide, highlighting his enduring legacy.
The Ministry of Finance issued the official gazette notification for the commemorative coin on 9th December 2022, making this coin a significant tribute to one of India’s greatest thinkers and freedom fighters. Collectors and admirers of Sri Aurobindo eagerly await the coin’s release, which serves as both a numismatic collectible and a symbol of India’s rich cultural heritage.
