Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings of Sri Aurobindo Coins in MDF Boxes

The India Government Mint, Kolkata has opened the bookings of ₹150 coin issued to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sri Auribindo with MDF Box packages. The bookings are open from March 18, 2023, and it is subject to limited availability.

Earlier, the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the commemorative coin along with the postage stamp to mark the event on December 13, 2022 via video conferencing. The programme was held in Kamban Kalai Sangam, Puducherry, under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The ₹150 commemorative coin in Proof Set with the MDF Box packaging is priced at ₹4,235. However, the Proof and UNC sets, presented in a Folder/Blister packages were issued for booking on February 14, 2023 with the Proof Set priced at ₹3,706 and UNC Set at ₹3,443.

These coin sets can be purchased either at the mint premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint, with updates available in the current and upcoming bookings section.

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has opened the bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the  Birth Centenary of Bhagwan Sri Sathya Sai Baba . The bookings are open from November 19, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier in the day, the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the commemorative coin and postage stamp to mark the event at Sri Sathya Sai Hill View Stadium, Puttaparthi, Andhra Pradesh. The Government of India will issue a ₹100  commemorative coin  to mark the ' Birth Centenary of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba '. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on April 22, 2025, confirming this coin. Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba was a revered spiritual leader and humanitarian, known for his teachings on love, unity of religions, and selfless service. Born in 1926 in Puttaparthi, India, he inspired millions through his message of "Love All, Serve All" and established numerous free hospitals, schools, and water projects to uplift humanity. His legacy continues to guide people worldwide in living a life of compassion, truth, and devotion. The  metal composition  of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc.
