New Commemorative Coin: 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat

The Government of India will be issuing a Rs 100 commemorative coin to mark the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat. The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification today confirming the same.

Mann Ki Baat is an Indian radio programme hosted by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in which he addresses the people of the nation on All India Radio, DD National and DD News. Since the first show on 3 October 2014, there have been 99 episodes. The 100th episode has will be aired on 30th April 2023. 

The metal composition of the coin will be Quaternary Alloy (50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel and 5% Zinc). The weight of the coin will be 35 grams and 44 mm in diameter with 200 serrations at the edge. The description of the coin is as below.

Obverse:  The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed  below, flanked  with the  word “भारत” and  "INDIA" at right and left periphery of the coin with Rupee Symbol "₹” and denomination  value “100” in International Numerals below the Ashoka Lion Capital.

Reverse: The face of coin shall bear the logo of 100th Episode of Mann Ki Baat which consists of an image of microphone image with sound waves and year ‘2023’ is written on the image of microphone. ‘मन की बात 100’ in Devanagari script and ‘MANN KI BAAT 100’ in English is written above and below of the microphone image respectively.

The commemorative coin is scheduled to release mostly on 30th April 2023. This will be the third coin  to release in April 2023 and 6th coin for the year 2023.
