New Commemorative Coin: 100th Episode of Mann Ki Baat
The Government of India will be issuing a ₹100 commemorative coin to mark the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on April 20, 2023, confirming this coin.
Mann Ki Baat is an Indian radio programme hosted by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in which he addresses the people of the nation on All India Radio, DD National and DD News. Since the first show on 3 October 2014, there have been 99 episodes. The 100th episode has will be aired on 30th April 2023.
The metal composition of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.
Obverse: The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capital of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked with the word “à¤ारत” and "INDIA" at right and left periphery of the coin with Rupee Symbol "₹” and denomination value “100” in International Numerals below the Ashoka Lion Capital.
Reverse: The face of coin shall bear the logo of 100th Episode of Mann Ki Baat which consists of an image of microphone image with sound waves and year ‘2023’ is written on the image of microphone. ‘मन की बात 100’ in Devanagari script and ‘MANN KI BAAT 100’ in English is written above and below of the microphone image respectively.
The commemorative coin is expected to be released on or around April 30, 2023. It will be the third coin released in April 2023 and the sixth commemorative coin of the year.
