New Commemorative Coin: Centenary Year of Karnataka Bank
The Government of India will issue a commemorative coin of ₹100 to celebrate the ' Centenary Year of Karnataka Bank '. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on December 29, 2023, confirming this coin. Karnataka Bank, incorporated on 18 February 1924, stands as a venerable financial institution with a rich history of service and commitment. Headquartered in Mangaluru, Karnataka, this leading private sector bank has evolved over the years to become a trusted name in the Indian banking sector. The metal composition of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy , comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.
