Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Saint Meera Bai Coin Sets
The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has opened the bookings for the ₹525 commemorative coin issued to mark the 525th Birth Anniversary of Saint Meera Bai. The bookings are open from December 15, 2023, and it is subject to limited availability.
Earlier, the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled a ₹525 coin and a postage stamp to mark the event during his participation in the ‘Sant Mirabai Janmotsav’ in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on November 23, 2023. The Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Ministers Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya and Shri Brajesh Pathak, and Mathura MP Smt. Hema Malini were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
The ₹525 coin, included in the Proof Set and available in Folder/Blister packaging, is priced at ₹3,513. While the UNC Set is priced at ₹3,273 and is yet to be open for booking, the Proof Set with the MDF/Wooden Box is also awaiting availability for booking.
This marks the first issuance of a ₹525 coin denomination in the history of Republic India Coinage. These coin sets can be purchased either at the mint premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint, with updates available in the current and upcoming bookings section.

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has opened bookings for the Proof Set with the MDF/Wooden Box, priced at ₹4,341, as on February 4, 2024.
