Ministry of Law & Justice to Release Coin on Ramakrishna Mission
The ₹125 commemorative coin and a postage stamp commemorating the '125 Years of Ramakrishna Mission' will be released on December 27, 2023 at Abhedananda Convention Center, Belur Math, Howrah. The event will be graced by the Minister of Law & Justice, and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture, Sri Arjun Ram Meghwal.
Founded by Swami Vivekananda on May 1, 1897, the Ramakrishna Mission achieved a significant milestone, completing 125 years of its illustrious journey on May 1, 2022. This noteworthy achievement has been celebrated through a series of programs over the past year by the headquarters of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, along with their branches across India and in some foreign countries.
Earlier, on April 8, 2023, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi participated in the 125th-anniversary celebrations of Sri Ramakrishna Math at Vivekananda House in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The Prime Minister highlighted that the government's governance is inspired by the philosophies of Swami Vivekananda. He drew parallels to Swami Vivekananda's vision, emphasising that societal progress occurs when privilege is dismantled, and equality is ensured. The Prime Minister noted that this vision is reflected in all flagship programs of the government, opening the doors of development to everyone and moving away from the past when basic facilities were considered privileges accessible only to a select few.
Apart from this release, two more commemorative coins, dedicated to 'Dr. Panjabrao Alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh' and 'Khartargachha Millennium,' are scheduled for release in the coming days. Stay tuned for regular updates on new coins and upcoming booking details, on this blog.
