New Commemorative Coin: Shri Ram Chandra Ji of Shahjahanpur
The Government of India will issue a commemorative coin of ₹125 to mark the 125th Birth Anniversary of Shri Ram Chandra Ji of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on January 31, 2024, confirming this coin.
Shri Ram Chandra of Shahjahanpur, affectionately known as Babuji, was born on April 30, 1899. He is the founder of a spiritual organisation called Shri Ram Chandra Mission (SRCM), established in honour of his Master, Shri Ram Chandra Ji of Fatehgarh, in 1945.
The metal composition of the ₹125 coin will consist of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin will weigh 35 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.
Obverse: The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devanagari script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol “₹” and denominational value “125” in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol.
Reverse: This face of coin shall bear the portrait of Shri Ram Chandra Ji of Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh in the centre of the coin. The inscription “शाहजहााँपुर, उ.प्र. के श्री राम चन्द्र जी की 125वीं जयंती” shall be written in Devanagari script on the upper periphery and the inscription “125th Birth Anniversary of Shri Ram Chandra Ji of Shahjahanpur, U.P." in English is depicted on the lower periphery of the coin. The year “2024” in international numeral shall be written below the portrait of the coin.

This will be the second commemorative coin associated with the Shri Ram Chandra Mission. In January 2023, a ₹150 coin was issued in honour of Shri Ram Chandra Ji of Fatehgarh, affectionately known as Lalaji.
