PM Modi to Release ₹150 Coin on Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Prabhupad

The Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, is set to release the ₹150 commemorative coin and postal stamp to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupad as part of the World Vaishnav Convention 2024 organised by Gaudiya Mission at Bharat Mandappam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on February 8, 2024.

Gaudiya Mission, with an unwavering commitment to spreading the teachings of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and a dedicated focus on human welfare, is poised to mark a historic event – the World Vaishnav Convention 2024. Set to take place from February 6th to 8th, this grand assembly serves as a tribute to the founder acharya and revered spiritual leader, Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Goswami Prabhupad of Gaudiya Mission.

The convention, an annual gathering of Vaishnavism devotees worldwide, promises a vibrant celebration of spiritual legacy and profound teachings. The festivities commence with the Adhivas Mohotsav, followed by a majestic Nagar Sankirtan Procession spreading the message of universal brotherhood through devotional chanting. In addition to the commemorative coin and postal stamp unveiling, the event will feature spiritual discourses, an exhibition showcasing the spiritual heritage, cultural programs including Gaudiya Dance performances, and the soul-stirring Sri Harinam Sankirtan.

Earlier, on February 1, 2024, the Ministry of Finance issued the gazette notification regarding the issuance of the commemorative coin, as previously posted on this blog. Furthermore, there are other potential coin releases in the pipeline.

RBI Coin Sets Now Available at India Govt Mint's Delhi Counter

The ₹90  commemorative coin  issued to celebrate the  90 Years of Reserve Bank of India  (RBI) is now available at the Sales Counter at India Government Mint's Corporate Office in New Delhi. The ₹90 coin, featured in the Proof Set and offered in Folder/Blister packaging, is priced at ₹4950 as of April 18, 2024. However, online bookings for the commemorative coin have not yet begun, and there may be a difference in online pricing. It's important to note that the  metal composition  of this ₹90 coin is Pure Silver (99.9%), weighing 40 grams with a diameter of 44 mm. It also features 200 serrations along the edge. The ₹90 is minted by India Government Mint, Kolkata.
