Hyderabad Mint Opens Bookings for Nirvan Mahotsav Coins

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has commenced bookings for the ₹100 commemorative coin on 2550th Bhagwan Mahaveer Nirvan Mahotsav starting from April 22nd, 2024, and it is subject to limited availability.

The ₹100 coin is presently available in Proof, housed in MDF/Wooden Box packaging priced at ₹4,540. It is worth noting that Proof coins have been exclusively issued in MDF/Wooden Box packaging for the past couple of themes. However, bookings for the Proof Set and UNC Set with Folder/Blister packaging were never opened.

The metal composition of the ₹100 coin consists of a Quaternary Alloy, comprising 50% Silver, 40% Copper, 5% Nickel, and 5% Zinc. The coin weighs 35 grams and has a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge.

Earlier, the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, in the presence of Minister of State for Law & Justice, Parliamentary Affairs, and Culture, Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, and the Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, released the ₹100 commemorative coin on the auspicious occasion of Mahaveer Jayanti, on 21st April at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has commenced bookings for Proof Set in Folder/Blister packaging at a price of ₹3,990, starting from October 4, 2024.
