Shri Pralhad Joshi to Unveil ₹108 Coin on Shri Satya Pramoda Teertha Swamiji

The Hon'ble Union Minister, Shri Pralhad Joshi (Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution of India), is scheduled to unveil a ₹108 commemorative coin in honor of Shri Satya Pramoda Teertha Swamiji, in the divine presence of Shri Satyatma Tirtha Swamiji, on August 30, 2025, at Sri Uttaradi Math, Kachiguda, Bhagyanagar, Hyderabad.

The event will be graced by the Guest of Honour, Justice Shri P. S. Dinesh Kumar, Presiding Officer of the Securities Appellate Tribunal and former Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court. Also joining will be Dr. Jaiteerth R. Joshi, CEO & Managing Director of BrahMos Aerospace, along with several other distinguished dignitaries, scholars, and devotees. Together, they will pay tribute to the revered Sri Satya Pramoda Teertha Swamiji and honor his enduring spiritual legacy.

Shri Satya Pramoda Teertha Swamiji (1912–1997) was the 41st Pontiff of the Sri Uttaradi Math, a revered institution of the Dvaita Vedanta tradition established by Sri Madhvacharya. He was widely respected for his deep scholarship in Vedanta, simplicity in living, and unwavering dedication to dharma. During his tenure, he guided countless devotees, promoted Vedic learning, and strengthened the spiritual and cultural foundation of the Math. His life and teachings continue to inspire seekers across generations.

This release should mark the 19th commemorative coin of 2025, with the Ministry of Finance confirming its issuance through a gazette notification dated August 18, 2025. Significantly, this will be the first-ever coin with a denomination of ₹108 to be issued in the history of Republic India’s coinage. The coin is reportedly being minted by the India Government Mint, Mumbai. Additionally, several more commemorative coin releases are expected this year, as outlined in the upcoming and possibility section.

SRMH Announces Release of ₹100 Coin for Sri Ramanasramam Centenary

The Sri Ramana Maharshi Heritage (SRMH) has announced the release of the ₹100 commemorative coin to mark the Sri Ramanasramam Centenary . The Government of India will issue a ₹75  commemorative coin  to mark the Platinum Jubilee of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on August 12, 2025, confirming this coin.
