PM Modi Unveils ₹150 Coin on Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
The Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled a ₹150 commemorative coin and a postal stamp to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel today, on October 30, 2025, at Ekta Nagar, Kevadia, ahead of the nationwide observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on October 31, 2025.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated and laid the foundation stones for development projects worth ₹1,219 crore in Kevadia on the eve of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s 150th Jayanti. These projects include the Birsa Munda Bhavan—an iconic centre dedicated to Bhagwan Birsa Munda—a residential complex for GSEC and SSNNL employees, the first phase of the hospitality district, and a Bonsai Garden.
Shri Modi also flagged off a fleet of electric buses in Kevadia, an initiative aimed at providing comfortable and sustainable transport facilities for visitors to the region.
During his visit, the Prime Minister met members of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s family in Kevadia, expressing his delight in interacting with them and recalling the monumental contributions of Sardar Patel to the nation.
Shri Narendra Modi also attended a cultural programme that portrayed the inspiring life and legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The presentation highlighted Sardar Patel’s active role in India’s freedom struggle, his pivotal efforts in unifying the nation, and his leadership in addressing the challenges faced during the formative years after independence.
This release marks the 26th commemorative coin of the year 2025, minted by the India Government Mint, Mumbai. Interestingly, the denomination count for ₹150 has now reached 20 themes. The bookings for this coin is expected to open soon on the India Government Mint’s website and will be updated under the current and upcoming bookings section.
