Maharashtra & Punjab Governors Release Coin on Acharya Jawahar Lal Maharaj

The Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra and Gujarat, Shri Acharya Devvrat, along with the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab, Shri Gulabchand Kataria, released a ₹150 commemorative coin and a postal stamp to mark the 150th Birth Anniversary of Jain Saint and Freedom Fighter Acharya Jawahar Lal. The ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai, today, on November 16, 2025, and was organized by the Jaskaran Bothra Foundation.

The event was graced by Maharashtra’s Minister of Skill Development, Shri Mangal Prabhat Lodha; Secretary to the Governor, Dr. Prashant Narnaware; Chief Post Master General of Maharashtra, Shri Amitabh Singh; Trustee of the Jaskaran Bothra Foundation, Shri Siddharth Bothra; and several other distinguished guests.

Acharya Shri Jawahar Lal Ji Maharaj was a revered Jain saint, social reformer, and freedom fighter whose life was dedicated to spiritual upliftment and national service. Known for his profound wisdom, compassion, and commitment to non-violence, he inspired countless followers through his teachings rooted in truth and moral discipline. During India’s struggle for independence, he played an active role in motivating people toward patriotic duty while simultaneously guiding them on the path of righteousness. His contributions to society, spirituality, and the nation continue to be honored and remembered with deep respect.

This release marks the 31st commemorative coin of the year 2025, minted by the India Government Mint, Hyderabad. The ₹150 coin, issued on such a momentous occasion, is undoubtedly a prestigious addition to any collection—particularly for numismatists who cherish themes of national pride, heritage, and patriotism.
