New Commemorative Coin: India Security Press, Nashik
The Government of India will issue a ₹100 commemorative coin to mark the Centenary Year of India Security Press (ISP), Nashik. The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on December 15, 2025, confirming this coin.
The India Security Press (ISP), Nashik, established in 1925, is one of India’s oldest and most important security printing institutions. Operated under Security Printing and Minting Corporation of India Limited (SPMCIL), it is responsible for printing passports, postal stamps, non-judicial stamp papers, revenue stamps, and several other government security documents. Known for its high-end technology and advanced anti-counterfeiting measures, ISP plays a crucial role in safeguarding the nation’s identity and administrative systems. Over the decades, it has evolved into a modern, highly secure facility that remains central to India’s printing infrastructure.
The metal composition of the ₹100 coin will consist of a Nickel Silver, comprising 60% Copper, 20% Nickel, and 20% Zinc. The coin will weigh 32 grams and have a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. The coin's description is as follows.
Obverse: The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the center with the legend "सत्यमेव जयते" inscribed below, flanked on the left periphery with the word “भारत” in Devanagari script and on the right periphery with the word “INDIA” in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol “₹” and denominational value “100” in the international numerals below the Lion Capitol.
Reverse: This face of the coin shall bear the image of the building of India Security Press, Nashik at the centre of the coin. The inscription “भारत प्रतिभूति मुद्रणालय, नासिक का शताब्दी वर्ष” shall be inscribed in Devanagari script on the upper periphery of the coin and the inscription “Centenary Year of India Security Press, Nashik” shall be inscribed in English on the lower periphery of the coin. The year “1925 - 2025” in international numerals shall be inscribed below the image.
