1977 - 5 Paise Experimental Coin

The Aluminum 5 Paisa from India Govt Mint Bombay was listed in Classical Numismatic Gallery; Auction 12, Lot No: 609. It was described as a pattern coin struck in 1977. 

The experimental coin was mentioned as extremely rare, but the Aluminum metal was adopted in 1967. It could be possible that the coin might have been struck to check the new equipment or minting machines.

Mumbai Mint Commences Bookings for BSG Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Mumbai, has commenced the bookings for the ₹75  commemorative coin  issued to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the Bharat Scouts and Guides . The bookings are open from today, December 24, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier on November 24, 2025, the Hon'ble Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Anandiben Patel, released a ₹75 coin and a postal stamp to mark the occasion while inaugurating the 19th National Jamboree of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.  The ₹75 coin is available in both Proof and UNC sets, presented in a folder/blister pack. Additionally, the Proof Set is also available in an MDF box package. The Proof Set is priced at ₹6,667 and the UNC Set at ₹6,503, both offered in folder/blister packaging.
