The ₹100 coin in the Proof Set Blister/Folder pack from Kolkata Mint was issued at a price of ₹11,102, as silver prices were at their peak at the time of booking in February 2026.

New Commemorative Coin: 150th Year of IACS

The Government of India will issue a ₹150  commemorative coin   to mark the 150th Year of Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science . The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on March 13, 2026, confirming this coin. The Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS) was established in 1876 in Kolkata with the aim of promoting scientific research and education in India. It was founded by the eminent physician and educationist Mahendra Lal Sircar, who envisioned an institution where Indians could actively engage in scientific experiments and research. IACS played a crucial role in the development of modern science in India and became internationally renowned when C. V. Raman conducted his groundbreaking research there, leading to the discovery of the Raman Effect in 1928. Kolkata Mint Starts Bookings for Make in India and Language Dept Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has commenced the bookings for the commemorative coins issued on 10th Anniversary of Make in India and Official Language Department . The bookings are open from March 16, 2026, and it is subject to limited availability. The first-ever coloured coin with ₹100 denomination was unveiled by the Union Minister for Commerce and Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal in New Delhi to mark a decade of the Make in India initiative on September 20, 2025.  The ₹50 coin was released to mark the Golden Jubilee of Official Language Department by the Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi on June 26, 2025.
