2025 - 50 Years of NHPC Limited | Commemorative Coin

A commemorative coin of ₹50 will be issued to mark 50 years of NHPC Limited. The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notification on November 4, 2025.

NHPC Limited, formerly known as the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation, stands as one of India’s premier public sector enterprises in the field of power generation. Established in 1975, NHPC was founded with the vision of harnessing India’s vast hydroelectric potential to meet the growing energy demands of the nation. Over the decades, it has evolved into a major player in the renewable energy sector, contributing significantly to the country’s sustainable development and energy security.

With its headquarters in Faridabad, Haryana, NHPC has been instrumental in developing, operating, and maintaining numerous hydroelectric projects across India. The corporation has commissioned several landmark projects in regions such as Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and the North Eastern states, where the topography is ideally suited for hydropower generation. Kolkata Mint Commences Bookings for RSS Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has commenced the bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the 100 Years of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The bookings are open from October 7, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier, on October 1, 2025, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled the commemorative coin along with a special postal stamp to mark the event at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The ₹100 coin is currently available in the Proof Set, packaged with a booklet pack. It remains to be seen whether the Mint will also issue the UNC Set with a booklet pack or the Proof Set with an MDF box.  The ₹100 coin is priced at ₹8,410 for the Proof Set, which comes packaged with a booklet pack. The Government of India will issue a ₹100  commemorative coin  to mark the Centenary Celebrations of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The Ministry of Finance issued a gazette notification on September 30, 2025, confirming this coin. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is a voluntary cultural organization founded in 1925 by Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedgewar in Nagpur. It promotes the values of discipline, selfless service, and national unity, with the vision of strengthening Indian society based on cultural and traditional ideals. The RSS conducts daily shakhas (local gatherings) where physical training, character building, and community service are emphasized.
