Govt to Issue M.G.Ramachandran and M.S.Subbulakshmi Coins

The Government of India will be issuing Rs 100 commemorative coins to mark the Birth Centenaries of AIADMK founder Dr. M.G Ramachandaran and renowned Carnatic singer M.S Subbulakshmi. The Ministry of Finance has issued the gazette notifications confirming the same on Monday.

Additionally, there will be new circulating Rs 5 coin on the former Tamil Nadu chief minister and a Rs 10 coin in honour of  the Bharat Ratna-winning singer.

It is important to clarify that some media outlets and websites have not provided accurate information, causing confusion among readers by suggesting that the Rs 100 coin is a new addition to circulation.

Please note that the Rs 100 coin featuring Dr. M.G. Ramachandaran and Dr. M.S.Subbulakshmi will be released as a Non-Circulating coin. However, the same design will also be issued as a Circulating commemorative coin in lower denominations as stated above.

You can access the complete list of commemorative coins and stay updated on the status of Current & Upcoming Bookings and possible new coin releases.
