Hyderabad Mint Opens Bookings for Biju Patnaik and Rani Gaidinliu Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Hyderabad, has officially opened bookings for the lower-denomination single-coin sets issued to mark the Birth Centenary of Biju Patnaik and the Birth Centenary of Rani Gaidinliu. 

The booking window will remain open for a two-month period, from February 6, 2019, to April 5, 2019, giving collectors ample time to secure these special releases.

Both commemorative issues are being offered in an elegant Folder/Blister packaging, priced at ₹333/- each. 

Their accessible pricing, combined with the significance of the personalities being honoured, makes these sets particularly appealing—not only for seasoned numismatists but also for newcomers looking to begin their journey in modern Indian commemorative coin collecting.

These releases pay tribute to two iconic figures who made remarkable contributions to India’s freedom struggle and nation-building. Kolkata Mint Commences Bookings for RSS Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has commenced the bookings for the ₹100  commemorative coin  issued to mark the 100 Years of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The bookings are open from October 7, 2025, and it is subject to limited availability. Earlier, on October 1, 2025, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, unveiled the commemorative coin along with a special postal stamp to mark the event at Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. The ₹100 coin is currently available in the Proof Set, packaged with a booklet pack. It remains to be seen whether the Mint will also issue the UNC Set with a booklet pack or the Proof Set with an MDF box.  The ₹100 coin is priced at ₹8,410 for the Proof Set, which comes packaged with a booklet pack.
