The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will be releasing the ₹60 commemorative coin to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on April 3, 2023, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.

Shri Amit Shah, Union Home Minister & Minister of Co-operation, along with Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions), will also be present on this occasion.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India’s premier investigating agency, was established on 1st April 1963 through a resolution of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It functions under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and is entrusted with investigating high-profile cases of corruption, economic offenses, organized crime, and other significant national matters.

The Ministry of Finance issued the official gazette notification on March 29, 2023, confirming the release of the commemorative coin.

This issuance will mark the third commemorative coin in the ₹60 denomination, following the 60 years of the India Government Mint, Kolkata in 2012, and the 60 years of Coir Board in 2014.
