Lokmat Newspaper Reports Release of Shri Jawaharlal Darda Coin

The commemorative coin marking the 'Birth Centenary of Jawaharlal Darda' was scheduled for release on July 02, 2023. However, it appears that there was no formal release function.

As reported in the Lokmat Newspaper, it has been confirmed that the commemorative coin was indeed released. The statement reads, "In tribute to Jawaharlal Darda's significant contributions to the nation, the Government of India released a 5 Rupee postage stamp in 2005 and a 100 Rupee coin in 2023."

Earlier, the Union Minister for Home Affairs and Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, attended the Birth Centenary celebrations of freedom fighter and founder of ‘Lokmat,’ Shri Jawaharlal Ji Darda, and marked the completion of 50 years of the ‘Lokmat Nagpur Edition’ in Nagpur, Maharashtra, on February 18, 2023.

Images from the Lokmat Newspaper confirm that the ₹100 coin was minted by the India Government Mint, Mumbai. However, it remains unknown whether the commemorative coin has been officially released, as there was no formal release function. Stay tuned for upcoming booking details, as the commemorative coin is expected to be available soon on the India Government Mint's website, pending its release.
