Kolkata Mint to issue Coloured Silver Souvenir on World Cup 2023

The Kolkata Mint is set to release a coloured silver souvenir to commemorate the upcoming 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup.

The 2023 ICC Men's Cricket World Cup marks the 13th edition of this quadrennial One Day International (ODI) cricket tournament, organized by the International Cricket Council (ICC). This tournament is being hosted exclusively by India, starting on October 5 and concluding on November 19, 2023.

The souvenir token is crafted with 50 grams of Silver (999) and features an attractive design priced at ₹5207.26. Bookings for the souvenir will commence on September 30, 2023, as advertised in most leading newspapers today by Kolkata Mint.

Collectors would have greatly appreciated the issuance of a commemorative coin rather than the souvenir token.

Update: The souvenir token has been unexpectedly withdrawn as of October 3, 2023, for reasons undisclosed. Refunds are anticipated for orders made through the India Government Mint's website.

RBI Coin Sets Now Available at India Govt Mint's Delhi Counter

The ₹90  commemorative coin  issued to celebrate the  90 Years of Reserve Bank of India  (RBI) is now available at the Sales Counter at India Government Mint's Corporate Office in New Delhi. The ₹90 coin, featured in the Proof Set and offered in Folder/Blister packaging, is priced at ₹4950 as of April 18, 2024. However, online bookings for the commemorative coin have not yet begun, and there may be a difference in online pricing. It's important to note that the  metal composition  of this ₹90 coin is Pure Silver (99.9%), weighing 40 grams with a diameter of 44 mm. It also features 200 serrations along the edge. The ₹90 is minted by India Government Mint, Kolkata.
