Kolkata Mint Opens Bookings for Rani Durgavati Coin Sets

The India Government Mint, Kolkata, has started accepting bookings for the ₹500 commemorative coin issued to mark the 500th Birth Anniversary of Rani Durgavati. The booking period began on November 25, 2023, and is subject to limited availability.

The ₹500 coin, available in Folder/Blister packaging within the Proof Set, is priced at ₹5,554, while the UNC Set and Proof Set with the MDF/Wooden Box are still yet to open for booking.

Earlier, The Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated a ₹500 commemorative coin and a series of postage stamps as part of the festivities commemorating the 500th Anniversary of Rani Durgavati while laying the foundation stone for the Rani Durgavati memorial on October 5, 2023, in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh.

The ₹500 coin is composed of Pure Silver (99.9%) and weighs 40 grams, with a diameter of 44 mm, featuring 200 serrations along the edge. 

These coin sets are available for purchase either at the Mint Premises or through the official website of the India Government Mint. For additional details and updates, please refer to the 'Current and Upcoming Bookings' section for your convenience.

Update: The UNC Set in Folder/Blister packaging is available for booking at ₹5,295, as listed on December 15, 2023.
