The Government of India will issue a  commemorative coin  of ₹100 to mark the  2550th Nirvan Mahotsav of Bhagwan Mahaveer . The Ministry of Finance issued the gazette notification on February 23, 2024, confirming the coin. The 2550th Nirvan Mahotsav of Bhagwan Shri Mahaveer occurred on November 13, 2023, coinciding with Kartik Amavasya. The inauguration event was originally planned for November 26, 2023, at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in Delhi. However, it was postponed and is now rescheduled, possibly taking place on April 21, 2024, or earlier. The nationwide celebration of the last Tirthankara of Jainism is jointly organized by the Bhagwan Mahaveer Nirvan Mahotsav Samiti and the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.
